Everyone knows about the space pen. NASA spent millions on R&D to create the ultimate pen that would work in zero gravity and the result was this incredible machine. Well, no. In fact it was made by a pen manufacturer in 1966 — but it wasn't until October of 1968 that it went into orbit and fulfilled its space pen destiny.

This Apollo 11 Special Edition 50th Anniversary Astronaut Pen is in chrome, complemented with fine engravings including the Columbia Command and Service Module, historic dates, and Apollo 11 50th Anniversary text. Paul C. Fisher designed an innovative ballpoint pen that performs best in unique environments. He created a sealed and pressurized ink cartridge that debuted on the Apollo 7 mission in 1968 and has been reliably used on all manned space flights ever since.
